What is a spinal adjustment?

Chiropractic spinal adjustment is a manual procedure that manipulates the joints of the body, particularly the spine, in order to reduce pain, and restore or enhance joint function. It is a highly controlled procedure, that our chiropractors are fully trained in. It is safe and can be adapted to the specific needs of the patient.

Adjustments don’t always involve or need a “crack” as there are various techniques we use that don’t involve “cracking” the joint, including drop piece, activator and soft tissue techniques. As always if there is discomfort in any of the techniques, our practitioners can instead implement so other technique to treat you in a way with which you are comfortable.

Is a spinal adjustment painful/dangerous?

A spinal adjustment done by a professional, in a controlled manner is perfectly safe and painless. Our practitioners are highly trained to perform these techniques in the safest and most comfortable way possible. We would never allow you to feel uncomfortable while being treated, and there are always other treatment options that your practitioner can take if you at any point feel uneasy about any aspect of your treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

It depends on your condition, how you are treated and your practitioner. For some people, it may take just one treatment and one follow-up appointment, whereas for others, it could take weeks of ongoing treatments working with your practitioner to get you to your best self. It is best to discuss with your practitioner exactly what is best for you or your family.

What conditions do you treat?

As chiropractors, we treat the whole body, and can help with a variety of ailments. Some of our most commonly treated conditions are: back pain, migraines, headaches, acute injuries, chronic pain etc…

If you have a specific, or more involved problem, feel free to contact us and we will put you in touch with one of our practitioners to discuss what we can do for you. We endeavour to help to the very best of our ability, and have many health professionals available to refer, should your problem or condition require further treatment from a different kind of practitioner.

Do you treat children/ infants?

Yes, we treat many children/infants. Our practitioners take the utmost care with all of our patients, especially young children, and as such, make sure to adapt their treatments to suit the needs of the child. We ask that parents/guardians attend the appointments with their kids, so that everything done is approved by mum or dad.

Any additional issue or concern that you may have about your child that is not asked on the initial consultation form, should be discussed privately with your practitioner. We want to ensure that this remains a safe space for kids to focus on positive outcomes.

I’m Pregnant – is it safe to have a treatment?

Yes, we treat a lot of pregnant women in this practice. We make sure our treatments are safe, gentle and non-invasive. Pregnancy can be hard on the body, so we encourage women to look to chiropractic treatments to have their spine and pelvis aligned, in order to have an easier pregnancy and birth.

Can I buy supplements/products from you?

Yes, however, we can only sell supplements and products to patients who have been treated at our clinic. The products that we sell are practitioner dispensing only products and must be prescribed for you by one of our practitioners.
